Teacher exchanges

An exchange offers a unique challenge: it is a chance to adjust to new methods, and test some of your own. Teachers can keep in touch with their own schools, and perhaps establish a lively school link.

Teacher exchanges Europe
It is quite easy to find teachers in France, Spain or Germany interested in an exchange - use the eTwinning forums to post messages. However there is no supported exchange programme so you will need to decide with your head teacher if the incoming teacher would meet the school's requirements and whether your post would remain open.

Fulbright UK-US teacher exchange
The Fulbright Teacher Exchange programme is run by the British Council and the US Department of State. Through it, UK teachers are offered the opportunity to learn about contemporary American culture as well as assimilating and following American teaching methodologies and approaches. The incoming American teacher can bring a fresh and different outlook into the school, and assist in your school's international activities. Application deadlines are in December each yearMore>>>

Teaching placements in the USA
UK Teachers with three  years' experience are eligible to apply for a placement in the USA with Amity Exchange and work for up to three years.
Visiting International Faculty Programme
The Visiting International Faculty Program offers teachers from around the world the opportunity of serving as teachers and cultural ambassadors for their country in the United States. It is a placement and not an exchange programme so you will need to decide with your head teacher if your post would remain open. 2009-10 applications may be submitted at any time for positions beginning in August of 2009 and the requirement is a degree.  More>>>
