DCSF* eLanguages is an online collaborative platform enabling teachers to work quickly and effectively with an international partner - sharing ideas and managing projects.

If you don't have a partner school you can find one on the site or we can source one for you. If you already have a partner school or schools you can set up your own eLanguages project space to share documents and planning, exchange classwork, run a message board and post photos. All the schools involved can participate.

No special ICT skills are required, and the British Council’s dedicated team is on hand to offer help and advice every step of the way.

Features

You have a dedicated 'hello' area for you to introduce yourself, your class, your school, your town and your country.

The platform is available in 21 languages - English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi and Bulgarian.

eLanguages gives you up to 100 MB storage space for each project and supports a wide range of resources including movies, sound files, photos, galleries, web links, polls, forums, documents and presentations - which can be created or sourced by you or your students. It's explained as you go along how to upload pieces of work, organise and display them, and build up your project into something everybody involved can feel proud of.

* eLanguages is funded and supported by the Department for Children, Schools and Families in the UK and is free to all schools worldwide.
