The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games promote sport practised without discrimination of any kind.
 
The Paralympic ethos is based on the principles of excellence in sport and opportunity to participate in fair competition.
 

It asserts the dignity of athletes and sport, through the fundamental values of honesty, human rights, fairness, justice, non-discrimination and personal integrity.   

 

As children grow older they can start to observe areas of life where unfairness makes life harder for certain individuals or communities.
