Working with Turkey
Turkey's geographical and political
location as a bridge between European and the Muslim cultures makes
a partnership with a Turkish school an amazing educational
opportunity.
Now that Turkey is a candidate state of the European
Union, Turkish schools are very keen to participate in
Comenius projects. In
fact many (but not all) want to link only in order to prepare
a Comenius application, so be sure that you do too, so that
the aims of both schools are aligned before proceeding.
For joint projects, consider architecture, ancient history,
medieval history, modern history, tourism and leisure,
religious studies, engineering, Arabic or art!
As project partners, Turkish schools can be extremely creative
and full of surprises, from science to poetry. There is a great
interest in using ICT. The country is also very feasible for pupil
visits.
